Position Overview

The Business Development Representative (BDR) (remote) will work with sales and marketing to identify and qualify new business opportunities. You will be part of a high performing team and will have daily interactions with sales executives, marketing leadership, subject matter experts and prospect decision makers. 

The BDR will work with marketing leadership sales executives and subject matter experts to conduct strategic account planning and execute business development activities. Activities will be both strategic and tactical and will include: relationship development, account mapping and planning, marketing response follow up and lead qualification and nurturing. This position will have a heavy focus on phone based activities. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  •  Collaborate with Sales Executives to develop strategic account plans and target maps
  •  Collaborate with the US Marketing team to increase marketing campaign success through increased awareness, event attendance and lead generation
  •  Strategic relationship building and relationship management with business partners to provide awareness and education on Columbus and uncover new lead sources
  •  Outbound calling to executives and management professionals within targeted account areas
  •  Conduct high level consultative discussions with decision makers
  •  Manage and conduct nurture activities directed towards prospective clients, including building a relationship, and providing education on Columbus’ service and the Microsoft Dynamics products
  •  Participation in sales training, webinars, product training and Columbus marketing events 

Credentials & Experience

  • College degree in a related discipline desired (Business, Marketing, Sales, Communications or related)
  • Previous experience in a B2B sales environment

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  •  Strong written and oral communication skills required
  •  Working knowledge of business software (ERP, CRM, BI)
  •  Working knowledge of process manufacturing principles desired but not required
  •  Ability to thrive in a collaborative atmosphere as well as work individually
  •  Excellent organizational skills with the ability to establish priorities and proceed with objectives
  •  Knowledge of Microsoft office software tools such as Word, Excel and Outlook required
  •  Past experience working with/in CRM systems, specifically Microsoft CRM desired 

Special Requirements

  • Willing to work overtime as needed and requested
